A South Florida native that grew up around boats, spending days fishing on his father’s 20 ft Shamrock, Rey feels most at home on the water. A graduate of UTI Marine Mechanics Institute, Rey has thousands of hours of formal marine technician training and over 20 years of marine industry experience at his fingertips. On top of multiple certifications, his dedication and professionalism has contributed to a successful career, gathering invaluable knowledge and experience working for some of the leading marine companies in the world. His continued success combined with a lifelong dream is the driving force for what is now 1st Gear Marine.
